Lady Baltimore Cake*

2 cups sugar

2/3 cup vegetable shortening

1-1/4 cups water

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 cups cake flour

5 teaspoons baking powder

4 egg whites

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

วิธีทำ

Cream butter and sugar

Reserve 1 tsp of baking powder

Sift remaining dry ingredients three times

Add to creamed mixture alternately with water

Beat well

Add vanilla

Beat egg whites to froth

Add reserved baking powder and beat til stiff

Fold into batter

Pour into 2 greased round pans

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

Cool and frost with Lady Baltimore Frosting
