Ingredienser

3 cups sugar

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup light corn syrup

3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Pinch of salt

Instruktioner

Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a heavy saucepan. Boil for five minutes or to a hard ball stage when put in cold water.

Gradually beat in egg white and add remaining ingredients. Beat until mixture holds its shape. Drop from a teaspoon onto waxed paper.
