Dirty Ed’s Pickles

1 gallon hamburger dill chips (Mount Olive)
2/3 cup pickle juice
3 lbs. white sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1 head of garlic fresh chopped
Jalapeno peppers to your taste mild or hot (small jar)
Pickling spice
Cheese cloth

Drain pickles retain 2/3 cup of juice. Chop the garlic, chop the jalapeno’s or buy already chopped. Cut cheese cloth into a square, put pickling spice on cheese cloth and make a little bigger than a golf ball. Tie closed with string and cut ends off. Start layering:
Put 1 in. of pickles in jar, sprinkle garlic and peppers, and a ¼ in. layer of sugar, lightly sprinkle vinegar and pickle juice. Continue to layer until half full and keep pushing and packing as much as possible. Half way up the jar, place pickling spice ball. Continue to layer. Pack tight to get all pickles in. Attach lid and turn upside down on counter. Every time you pass it, roll it to dissolve the sugar. It will look clear by the end of the day and will be ready place in fridge.
