Espelette Hot Sauce
24 tsp ;(1/2 Cup); 4oz
servings-
total timeIngredients
½ cup Champagne vinegar
2 tablespoons Espelette chile powder
1½ teaspoons sea salt
Directions
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and purée for 30 seconds. Pour into a small jar, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 months.
Notes
Because Espelette chiles are intensely flavorful without being overwhelmingly spicy, I use this easy-to-make hot sauce all the time. Its balance of sweetness and heat tempered with Champagne vinegar makes an especially good complement to garden salad tacos, one of my lunch staples. It’s also wonderful drizzled over egg dishes or stirred into a bowl of warm beans and greens.
cost per 4 oz is 10.88. Recommended retail $32
