Ingredients

1 Ibs fettuccine

6-8 minced garlic cloves

1 small onion (or shallot)

Handful chopped parsley

6 oz freshly grated Parmesan

1 1/2 pounds of shrimp (around 20 pieces)

* seasonings for shrimp*

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp cayenne (or chili powder)

5 tbsp butter, unsalted

olive oil

2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup pasta water

*seasonings for sauce*

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp white pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp cayenne or chill powder

Directions

Pat shrimp dry and coat with seasonings

Add shrimp to hot pan with olive oil and cook for about 45 seconds on each side. We’re not fully cooking shrimp yet as we are adding them to a hot sauce later on.

Remove shrimp and add to pan 5 tbsp of butter, some olive oil, and sauté the onions and garlic for about 3 minutes.

Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Once simmering add seasoning and Parmesan. Stir until Parmesan is completely melted.

Toss in shrimp and let cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Once shrimp is cooked add in pasta and pasta water.

The sauce should coat the pasta without drowning it.

Add final garnishes and serve.

Notes

Can substitute shrimp for chicken.
