2 cups ketchup
⅔ cup bourbon
⅔ cup apple cider (or apple juice)
6 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ cup dark molasses
6 Tbsp pure maple syrup
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp kosher salt
½ tsp black pepper
Directions
After blending everything together, pour the BBQ sauce into a heatproof dish and smoke it at 225 degrees for about 45–50 minutes. This gives it that deep, smoky flavor that sets it apart. Let it cool completely, then transfer it to a sealed jar or container. You can store it in the fridge for up to a month — if it lasts that long.
