Easy Seven Layer Rice Casserole

Ingredients

1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice

1 cup whole kernel corn, drained

salt and pepper (I use seasoned salt)

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

1/2 cup water

1 small onion, chopped onions

1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped

1 lb lean ground beef, uncooked broken up into small pieces (do not pre-cook it will cook in the casserole dish, see recipe heading for seasoning)

1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained)

6 -8 slices uncooked bacon, cut in half

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or more if desired)

Directions

PREHEAT: Bake to 450 degrees F.Cover, bake for 1 hour; uncover and continue cooking for 20-25 minutes longer

Butter a 2 qt casserole dish.

1. Layer each ingredient in order given starting with the uncooked rice on the bottom of casserole dish, ending up with the bacon on top .

2, Top with shredded cheddar cheese the last 5 minutes of baking.
