Smokey Chili

2 Tbsp olive oil
1 large chopped onion
2 small chopped bell peppers
1.5 lb ground beef 80/20
1.5 lb spicy Italian sausage
5 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried Basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 3/4 cup low sodium chicken broth ( or 1 14.5 ounce can)
1 12 ounce bottle of beer
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 small can chipotles in adobo (chop it up)
1 small can pickled jalapeños (chop them up)

Sour cream
salt and pepper
Directions
heat oil in Dutch oven, add in onion and peppers until translucent (8 minutes)
add in meat and break it up while browning (about 5 mins)
add spices and stir for a couple minutes
mix in tomatoes, tomato paste, beer, chicken broth, chipotles and jalapeños
simmer until thickened (1 hr-1.5 hr)
mix in beans
Simmer for 5 more mins
serve over rice if preferred with cheese and sour cream
