Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup + 2 tbsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 large eggs (room temp)
1 tsp espresso powder
1 tsp hot water
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Brown the butter and set aside to cool until its
solidified a little but not completely.
Combine all dry ingredients
Combine cooled butter and sugars in stand mixer, but don’t overmix. You’re not creaming it.
Add in eggs
Combine hot water and espresso powder, then add into batter along with the vanilla
Mix until combined.
At this point, take off the mixer and fold in dry ingredients. Stop when there’s just a few streaks of flour left.
Fold in chocolate chips
Scoop into balls. You should end up with around 12 cookies.
Put in fridge to rest overnight
Bake at 370 for 10-15 minutes
Sprinkle with flake salt and let rest for 5 minutes
