Minced Meat Pide
Ingredients
Cup measurement: 200 ml
For the Dough
600 g flour (5 cups)
200 ml warm water (1 cup)
200 ml warm milk (1 cup)
50 ml oil (5 tablespoons)
10 g granulated sugar (1 level tablespoon)
15 g salt (1.5 teaspoons)
10 g powdered yeast (1 packet)
For dusting: 1 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 tablespoon milk
Preparation
Place the flour in a bowl, make a well in the center, add the water, milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Then, add the salt to the edges of the flour and knead. Once the dough comes together, add the oil and knead until the dough is smooth. Cover the dough tightly and let it rise until it doubles in size. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, cover each piece, and let it rise for another 10 minutes. Let it sit for it to open up.
Ground Meat Filling: For 8 pitas
400g ground meat
1 medium onion
2 green peppers
1 red bell pepper
1 medium tomato
Black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes
4 tablespoons oil
First, lightly sauté the ground meat, then add the finely chopped peppers and onion. Once they're browned, add the peeled and diced tomatoes and cook until the water has evaporated. Add the spices. That's it! 🙂↔️
Roll out the dough, not too long, but slightly wide. Place cheddar cheese on the edges, close them, brush with egg yolk, add the filling, and finally, add the cheddar cheese.
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (200 degrees Fahrenheit) and bake on the bottom rack until golden brown. 👌🏻
