Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Olive oil for frying

Directions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.

Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
