Ingredients

– 1 sweet onion, sliced into thin rings

– All-purpose flour (for dry and wet batters)

– Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning, to taste

– 1 egg

– Milk (enough to thin wet batter)

– Peanut oil (or preferred frying oil)

Directions

1. Slice onion into thin rings and separate.

2. In one bowl, mix AP flour with Tony’s to create the dry batter.

3. In another bowl, beat the egg, add milk, flour, and more Tony’s to make the wet batter (smooth but not too runny).

4. Dredge onion rings in the dry batter, then coat in the wet batter, and finally toss again in the dry batter.

5. Fry in hot oil (around 350°F) until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per batch.

6. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
