2 tablespoons loose leaf black tea (Assam, Ceylon, or your favorite)
4 cups hot water (about 200°F / 93°C)
½ cup honey (adjust to taste)
2 cups cold water (for dilution)
Ice
Optional: lemon slices, fresh mint
Instructions:
Brew the tea:
Steep the loose leaf tea in hot water for 5–7 minutes.
Sweeten while warm:
Remove the tea leaves and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm. Honey dissolves best in warm liquid.
Dilute and chill:
Add 2 cups cold water to the sweetened tea to balance strength. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
Serve over ice:
Pour over ice cubes in glasses, garnish with lemon or mint if you like.
Tips:
If you want a stronger honey flavor, add a little extra honey after chilling.
For a floral twist, try a mild honey like clover or orange blossom.
Avoid adding honey directly to cold tea—it won’t dissolve well.
