Bacon Corn Chowder (Grandma B)

8 slices bacon (chopped)
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups water
salt and pepper
6 cups milk
4 Tbsp Flour
1/2 tsp thyme
2 cans creamed corn
2 cups diced potato, cooked (or can use frozen hashbrowns)
Directions
Fry bacon till crisp. Drain and set aside.
Saute onion in bacon drippings, add water, salt & pepper. Cover and cook till veggies are tender (about 10-15 mins)
Combine 1 cup milk, Flour and thyme; add to veggies along with additional 5 cups milk. Stir constantly until slightly thickened.
Add 2 can creamed corn, potato and bacon.
Simmer 5 mins, stirring frequently.
Notes
Recipe doubled from original to accomodate 4 people + leftovers.
