Ingredients

2 pounds brisket

1 cup salsa

4 tablespoons seasoning for tacos

Juice from 2 fresh limes

Fresh cilantro

18 corn tortillas

1 cup crumbled cotija cheese

1 sliced jalapeño

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients in the Crock Pot

Begin by placing the brisket into the crock pot.

Pour the salsa over the brisket and sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly on top.

Squeeze the juice from the limes over these ingredients to add a burst of fresh flavor.

Step 2: Cook the Brisket

Cover the crock pot with its lid and set it to cook.

You have two options: cook on low for 10 hours for a slow and tender roast or on high for 5 hours if you need a quicker meal preparation.

Allow the flavors to meld together as the brisket becomes tender and juicy.

Step 3: Shred the Brisket

Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the brisket from the crock pot and shred it using two forks.

Return the shredded brisket back to the crock pot, allowing it to soak up the flavorful juices, and stir well to combine.

Step 4: Warm the Tortillas

As the shredded brisket absorbs the juices, take a few minutes to warm the corn tortillas.

You can do this in a skillet, oven, or directly over a flame if you prefer a slightly charred flavor.

Step 5: Assemble the Tacos and Serve

To serve, place a generous portion of the shredded brisket onto each warmed tortilla.

Top with cheese, fresh cilantro, and sliced jalapeños to your liking.

These toppings add texture and a hint of heat.
