Ingredients

  • 2lbs ground lamb

  • 1 large onion grated

  • 1 large carrot grated

  • 2 cloves garlic grated

  • 2tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1.5 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme leaves

  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary chopped

  • 1 cup red wine

  • 1 cup chicken stock

  • Frozen peas

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2.5 lbs potatoes (5-6 Yukon gold)

  • 1/2 cup cream

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 6 tbsp Parmesan cheese grated

  • 2 large egg yolks

Directions

  • Cook lamb until browned

  • Add in grated onion and carrot cooking for 4 minutes.

  • Add in garlic

  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Add wine and fresh herbs. Cook until wine is mostly evaporated.

  • Add chicken stock and frozen peas and cook for 3-4 minutes. Turn off heat and set aside

  • Make mashed potatoes. Stir in butter, cream, egg yolks and Parmesan.

  • Spread meat in a 9x13 pan. Add mashed potatoes. Top with Parmesan cheese.

  • Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
