8 oz broccoli florets
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1 lb shaved beef or steak, cut into bite sized pieces
Salt & pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Sesame seeds to serve, optional
Rice to serve
1/2 cup Trader Joe's reduced sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon chili onion crunch or sriracha
1 tablespoon tapioca flour or corn starch OR 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
Directions
1. First make the sauce by whisking together all ingredients until the flour has fully dissolved.
2. Heat avocado oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add the broccoli and add 2 tablespoons water. Sauté for about 5 minutes then set aside.
3. Rinse the pan and then add the sesame oil over medium high heat. Season the beef with salt and pepper. Add the beef and brown on each side for about 2 minutes (add 2 more minutes each side if using chicken).
4. Turn heat to medium then add the sauce. Simmer until beef is cooked through then stir in the broccoli.
5. Serve over rice with sesame seeds to top.
Notes
If you are not using Trader Joe's brand soy sauce, reduce to 1/3 cup.
