Spanish Rice Recipe - Mom’s

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Long Grain Rice

  • 1/8 Cup Vegetable Oil

  • 8 oz Tomato Sauce

  • 1/4 White Onion, diced

  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves, whole

  • 4 cups water or chicken broth lower sodium

  • 1 Tablespoon Knorrs Chicken Flavored Bouillon

  • Cumin to taste

Directions

Heat oil in large frying pan on medium heat.

Add rice and cook until golden brown.

Add diced onion for a few minutes; Make sure not to burn onion or rice.

Add 1 Tbl Knorrs chicken flavored bouillon to 4 cups water or chicken broth and microwave for 3 minutes.

When rice is brown, add water, tomato sauce, Knorrs, garlic, cumin and to pan.

Stir and cover pan. Let simmer for 15-18 minutes or until all is cooked and there is no liquid left. Fluff before serving and ENJOY.

Notes

Chicken broth vs water is a richer flavor which I prefer.
