Microwave Custard

3 cups whole milk
¾ cup sugar
5 Tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
2 Tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla
Directions
Scald 3 cups of whole milk (power level 8 for 5-6 minutes)
In Separate bowl mix:
¾ cup sugar
5 Tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
Stir the sugar mixture into the milk after scalded (with wire whip).
Beat 3 egg yolks with ¾ cup of the milk mixture
Mix all together, cook on power level 8 (at designated times) until thick.
Cook 2 minutes - stir with wire whip
Cook 1 minute - stir with wire whip
Repeat 1 min until THICK!
Add:
2 Tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla
*ONLY MAKE ONE BATCH AT A TIME...
Put it in sealed bowl to cool (plastic wrap against the custard). After it has cooled you can add coconut or bananas then put in your baked pie shell.
