Ingredients

1 Red Pepper

1kg mince beef

2 tins chopped tomatoes

1 tin red kidney beans

1 large onion

2 tsp cumin

2 tsp hot chilli powder

1 tsp cayenne

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

3 tsp garlic powder

150 ml red wine

300 ml beef stock (use whole cube)

Directions

Fry the beef mince and onion lightly until cooked.

Throw in the garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes.

Pour in about half a glass of red wine and beef stock and simmer until some of the wine has evaporated.

Chuck in all at once: the 2 tins of tomatoes; the chopped bell pepper; the drained kidney beans; the cumin, paprika and chili powder; the salt and pepper.

Add more spices to taste

Stir together in the saucepan and then leave to simmer on a low heat for 2-4 hours with the lid on, stirring about every 30 minutes or so.
