Simple Bacon & Asparagus Pasta

Ingredients

6 pieces of bacon

12 pieces of asparagus trimmed & sliced into smaller pieces

1/2 cup frozen peas (optional)

3-4 cups dry pasta

1/3 cup reserved pasta water

3/4 cup shredded Parmesan or pecorino

Chili flakes for serving

Directions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil

In a medium skillet, add bacon & cook until crispy, remove from heat & dice.

Remove excess bacon fat & add a splash of oil

Add asparagus & season with salt & pepper

Cook your noodles al dente & reserve pasta water

Once asparagus is cooked (about 5 mins), add cooked noodles, bacon, frozen peas, parmesan cheese & reserved pasta water

Mix everything well & let simmer for a couple mins

Serve & enjoy with extra pepper & chili flakes
