Ingredients

• Beef back ribs: 3.46 lbs

• Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce: 1 cup

• Trader Joe's Organic Kansas Style BBQ Sauce: 1 cup

• Lemon juice (instead of apple cider vinegar): 2 tbsp

• Olive oil: 2 tbsp

• Brown sugar (optional, for extra caramelization): 2 tbsp

• Garlic powder: 1 tsp

• Smoked paprika: 1 tsp

• Onion powder: 1 tsp

• Ground cumin: 1/2 tsp

• Marash chili flakes (instead of chili powder): 1 tsp

• Salt: 1/2 tsp

• Black pepper: 1/2 tsp

• MSG (Chinese salt): 1/2 tsp

Directions

1. Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, mix the two BBQ sauces, lemon juice, olive oil, and brown sugar (if using).

Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, ground cumin, Marash chili flakes, salt, black pepper, and MSG. Stir until well combined.

2. Marinate the Ribs

Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Place them in a resealable plastic bag or baking dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, coating them evenly.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.

3. Preheat the Oven

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top (optional for air circulation).

4. Bake the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the marinade, letting excess drip off (reserve some marinade for later).

Place ribs bone-side down on the baking sheet.

Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and starts pulling away from the bone.

Check at the 2-hour mark—if the ribs seem dry, baste with reserved marinade or a little water.

5. Caramelize the Sauce

Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

Remove the foil and brush the ribs generously with extra BBQ sauce.

Bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce thickens and caramelizes. Watch closely to prevent burning.

6. Rest and Serve

Let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides like roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, or coleslaw.

Notes

These oven-baked BBQ beef back ribs are marinated in a rich blend of Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ Sauce, lemon juice, and aromatic spices, then slow-baked to tender perfection. A final caramelized glaze enhances the deep, smoky flavors, making every bite irresistibly juicy and flavorful.
