1 pound Land O Lakes butter melted
2 packages of Filo
1 pound shelled, walnuts
1 pound pecans
1 pound almonds
2/3 cup of sugar
2 teaspoon teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon whole cloves
2 cups, honey
2 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
2 stick cinnamon
1 teaspoon grated orange
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Coarsely chop the nuts. Mix the nuts with the sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
Syrup:
Combine the honey, water, sugar, cinnamon, grated orange, and vanilla in a saucepan and bring to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Strain and cool.
Russia 9 x 13 x 2” pan with butter. Lay Filo out on a damp towel and cut to the size of the pan. Put one layer of Philo in pan and brush with butter and spread nut mixture very thin. Repeat until not mixture is gone - about 12 layers. Cover with remaining Filo sheets and butter. At least 8 to 10 layers more. Cut with a sharp knife, diagonally through into a diamond shape. Insert clove in each diamond. Bake at 350° for one hour and 50 minutes. After one hour and 10 minutes every 10 minutes. Should be a beautiful golden brown. Cool for several hours.
