Ingredients

1 cup cornmeall

1 cup all-purpose flour

¼ cup granulated sugar

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 large egg

1 cups buttermilk

¼ cup melted butter

Directions

Lightly grease a 9 inch pie plate. Preheat oven to 375 oC. Stir cornmeal with flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center. Whisk egg with buttermilk. Pour into cornmeal mixture and add melted butter. Stir just until mixed. Spread in pan. Bake in center of preheated oven until golden, from 20 to 24 minutes. Cut while warm.
