Lazy Lasagna Casserole - the Easiest Comfort Dish

Ingredients

12 lasagna noodles

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups marinara sauce

1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, then half of the remaining meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with the last 4 noodles topped with the remaining meat sauce and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let the casserole cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
