Mom Belliston’s Fruit Salad

1 1/2-2 cups grapes, halved
2 cups apples, peeled and cubed
2 bananas sliced
Pineapple chunks or tidbits, 20 oz can, drained with juice reserved
Mandarin oranges, 2-11 oz cans, drained
1 cup whipping cream whipped with 1/4 +1/8 cup powdered sugar
Sauce:
1/2 cup honey
3-3 1/2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar, to taste
3Tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoons salt
Directions
Mix fruit together except bananas.
Mix pineapple juice, vinegar, cornstarch, salt, and honey. Bring to a boil and cook until clear. Let it cool. Beat whipping cream with powdered sugar. Fold or mix whipping cream into the cooled sauce.
Drain any extra juice from fruit. Add the bananas before serving. Food whipping cream into cooled sauce. Add the mixture to the fruit and stir.
If making the sauce one day, and finishing the salad the next day then bring sauce to room temperature or warm slightly in the microwave. If needed be, it can be whipped into the whipped cream vs folding to get it mixed good. Be sure to drain fruit before adding whipped cream mixture.
