Hamburger Patties:
1.5 lb 80/20 ground Chuck
1 Egg
¼ Cup Bread Crumbs
Pepper to taste
½ tsp Seasoned Salt
½ tsp Onion Powder
½ tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Gravy:
1 Yellow Onion, sliced in thin strips
1 Green Bellpepper, sliced in thin strips
4 cloves Garlic, minced
4 Tbs Flour
1 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
4 cups Beef Broth
1-2 Tbs butter (as needed)
Directions
Combine all ingredients for hamburger patties, careful not to overmix
Divide meat into 6 even portions and form into steaks
In a large skillet, cook patties over medium heat 6 minutes per side
Remove the hamburger steaks from the pan and place on a wire rack
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter if there isn't much fat in the pan. Once the butter melts add the onions and cook for about 10 minutes until the onions begin to soften, adding bellpepper halfway through
Leave the onions in the pan and add the garlic. Cook for 1 minute
Add the flour, whisk and cook 2 minutes
Gradually add Worcestershire and broth. Whisk until smooth
Reduce the temperature to low and reduce the sauce to half. This will take about 15 minutes
Add patties back into the pan, spoon the gravy and onions over the steak, let simmer for 10 minutes
Serve immediately with rice
