Mom's Mac And Cheese

Ingredients

2 C dry elbow macaroni

3 T butter.

4 green onions thinly sliced

dash garlic powder

1/4 cup all purpose flour

2 1/2 cup Milk

salt & pepper to taste

6 slices bacon cooked drained crumbled

2 c sharp cheadar cheere divided

Topping

1 cup soft bread crumbs

2 Tbsp Butter melted

Directions

Cook dry macaroni, drain with hot water.

Melt butter, add green onions & garlic powder. Cook & stir for 1 minute. Add flour and stir until smooth. Add milk and cook until thickened. Stir in salt & pepper to taste. Remove 1/2 cup of cheese and set aside. Stir remaining 1-1/2 cup cheese and continue cooking until cheese is melted. Mix together macaroni & sauce and place in greased baking dish.

Sprinkle bacon over the casserole and top with 1/2 cup cheese.

Toss bread crumbs with 2 T melted butter and sprinkle over casserole.

Bake at 350° for 25-30 min until lightly browned.
