Ingredients
Cup measurement: 200 ml
For the dough
250 g flour (2 cups)
80 ml warm milk (1/2 cup)
1 egg
8 g salt (1 teaspoon, but not a heaping tablespoon)
30 g butter, room temperature
15 g granulated sugar (1 level tablespoon)
4 g powdered yeast (2 teaspoons)
For the sauce
1 clove grated garlic (can be omitted if you don't like it)
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
20 g butter, room temperature
Finely chopped parsley
Mix the butter until it's very soft. This is the sauce.
For the center, grate 120 g cheese. Squeeze it with your hands and place it in the center.
Preparation
Place the flour in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center. Add the yeast and warm milk. Let the yeast activate for about 5 minutes. Add the egg and salt and knead the dough. Once the dough reaches a consistency, add the butter and knead again. The dough should be soft. The consistency may vary depending on the quality of the flour! Lightly flour your counter, gather the dough, and shape it into a ball. Place the ball on a baking tray, press it down and enlarge it a bit. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a preheated oven at 30 degrees Celsius (30 degrees Fahrenheit) and covered. Once the dough has risen, deflate the dough and enlarge it with your hands until it is approximately 20cm wide. Shape it as shown in the video. Spread the sauce and add the cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 minutes. You can make it the night before and bake it in the morning. 🫠 Good luck to those who will try it.
