Episode 16 Bourbon Chocolate Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1 egg + 1 yolk

3 Tbsp bourbon (I used Old Forester 1910)

1 and 3/4 cups flour

3/4 cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

3oz semi sweet chocolate (food processor) chopped very fine

For rolling:

1 cup raw sugar

2 tsp bourbon

Directions: add soften butter into a mixer. Mix and add shortening. Mix together. Add sugars and mix. Add egg and yolk and mix until well combined scraping the bowl. Add bourbon and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix. Lastly add finely shopped chocolate. Refrigerate for 30 mins. Scoop using one inch cookie scoop and roll into raw sugar mixed with bourbon. Bake on a parchment lined pan at 350 for 12-15 mins.
