4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
⅓ cup bourbon
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Directions
Make the Bourbon Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with black pepper.
Cook the Salmon: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes.
Glaze the Salmon: Pour the bourbon glaze over the salmon, spooning it over the fillets as it thickens. Cook for 1-2 more minutes until the salmon is fully cooked and coated in the sauce.
Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or roasted vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the bourbon glaze for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
Pairs well with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or sautéed greens.
