½ cup hot water (from a kettle)

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 Tbsp tomato paste

1 tsp salt, plus extra for sprinkling inside the bell peppers

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Iranian filling with meat

2 Tbsp yellow split peas

3/4 cup (150 grams) basmati rice

2 Tbsp sunflower oil

1 onion, diced

1/2 tsp ground tumeric

5.5 oz (150 grams) diced or ground lamb

1 1/2 tsp tomato paste

2 Tbsp saffron infusion

2 tsp salt
