Maga's Banana Bread

Ingredients

3-4 very ripe bananas

1.5 cups all purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

4 tbsp. melted margarine

1 tsp. baking soda

1 egg

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.

  2. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and dust with flour. Set aside.

  3. Mash the bananas well.

  4. Add the egg and beat until no streaks remain.

  5. Mix in the sugar, baking soda, margarine, salt, and vanilla until homogeneous.

  6. Finally add in the flour. Do not overmix, just until it's combined and no dry flour remains.

  7. If using any additional mix-ins, fold them in.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

  9. Remove and let cool before taking it out from the pan.

Notes

Optional Mix-Ins:

- Ground nuts

- Raisins

- Swap sugar for 3/4 cup of maple syrup and add in cinnamon chips
