DOUGH:
1/2 cup hot water (120ml)
3/4 cups warm milk (180ml)
1/2 cup salted butter (113g)
1 room temperature egg
1/2 cup sugar (100g)
1 tsp salt (6g)
4 1/2 cups flour (540g)
2 tbsp instant yeast (18g)
FILLING:
2 1/2 stick softened, salted butter (283g)
2 1/2 cups brown sugar (500g)
5 tbsp cinnamon (40g)
FROSTING:
1/2 cup softened cream cheese (115g)
4 tbsp salted butter (56g)
3 cups powdered sugar (360g)
1 tsp vanilla bean paste (5ml)
1/4 tsp salt (1.5g)
Directions
In a stand mixer, mix the water, milk, egg, butter, flour, sugar, yeast, and salt with a dough hook. Knead for 15 minutes (not 5, sorry!), then place in greased bowl, cover, and rise for 2 hours.
While that’s rising, make the filling by beating together butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Once the dough is done proofing, flour your surface and roll into an 18x15 rectangle, spread filling, roll, cut and place in a 9x13 baking dish. Cover and proof for 1 hour.
Once the rolls are done proofing, bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
While those are baking, make the frosting by beating together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla bean paste, and salt.
Allow the rolls to cool for approximately 5-10 minutes, frost, and enjoy!
