Air Fryer Filipino Bananacue

Ingredients

• 3 large ripe plantains or bananas, peeled and halved crosswise

• 2 tablespoons canola oil

Directions

1. Brush both sides of the bananas with oil and sprinkle all over with sugar.

3. Set your air fryer to 350°F and preheat it. Use an air fryer liner with the sides folded down flat as the sugars will be baked onto the surfaces. Add bananas to air fryer; cook for 10 minutes or until dark golden brown, turning once. They will be very flexible when done. Almost to the point of breaking in half when lifting them.

Finishing Options

1) Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds

2) Sprinkle with a few drops of lemon juice

3) Dust with cinnamon and/or brown sugar

Notes

There’s no reason that this won’t also be successful in an oven or a roasting pan.
