Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 ⅔ cups hot water

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Directions

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.

Pour in hot water and melted butter, then mix with your hands until a dough forms and no liquid remains.

If the dough is sticky, add more flour one tablespoon at a time.

Transfer to a floured surface and knead about 10 times until smooth.

Divide dough into 12 equal portions and lightly flatten each into a disk. Coat both sides of each piece with flour, cover with a towel, and let them rest.

Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

Roll one piece into an 8-inch circle and place in the hot pan. Cook for 1 minute, flip, and cook for another 30 seconds until golden spots appear.

Transfer to a towel and cover to keep warm. Repeat with the rest.
