Chocolate Pie (Bobbie Dean)

Ingredients

1 c sugar

2 c milk

1/3 c flour

2 egg yolks

1 pinch salt

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/3 c cocoa

1 tsp butter

Meringue:

3 egg whites/ 2 tbsp sugar per egg white (6 tbsp)

Directions

In bowl, beat egg yolks with 1/3 c of milk.

Sift together sugar, flour, cocoa and salt.

Place in pan and cook on low.

Stir in egg mixture and remaining milk a little at a time.

Cook until thickens, then add butter and vanilla.

Cool and pour into baked pie shell.

Top with meringue (below)

Meringue:

3 egg whites/ 2 tbsp sugar per egg white (6 tbsp)

Beat until forms stiff peaks.
