Crescent Chicken Squares

Ingredients

3 oz. package cream cheese (softened)

3 Tablespoons butter (melted)

2 cups cooked chicken (cubed)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 Tablespoons milk

1 Tablespoon chopped chives or onion

1 Tablespoon chopped pimento (if desired)

8 oz. can crescent dinner rolls

3/4 cup seasoned croutons (crushed)

Heat oven to 350°.

Directions

In a bowl, mix cream cheese and 2 Tablespoons butter until smooth. (Reserve 1 Tablespoon butter)

Add next 6 ingredients. Mix well.

Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles - press perforation to seal.

Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture onto center of rectangle.

Pull four corners of dough to top center of chicken mixture, pinch slightly to seal.

Brush tops with the reserved 1 Tablespoon butter; dip in crouton crumbs.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 20 to 25 minutes.
