Turmeric Golden Milk (Haldi Doodh)

Ingredients

3 cups of full fat milk

1-1/2 teaspoon of ground turmeric

3/4 teaspoon (1000 mg) of ginger powder

3 teaspoons of coconut oil (curcumin in the turmeric is fat soluble)

1-1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons honey

pinch of black pepper (amplifies the benefits of curcumin in the turmeric by 20X)

Optional Ingredients

¼ tsp nutmeg (natural sedative)

1 teaspoon cardamom (you won’t notice it, and it has astounding properties)

2 tablespoons molasses (you won’t notice it, and it has astounding properties)

ground cinnamon, to serve

Directions

• Add all but the pepper and the honey to a medium sized saucepan.

• The active ingredients are heat sensitive, so gently heat the mixture on low heat and whisk to incorporate the ingredients. Allow the milk to simmer for 4 to 5 minutes.

• Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the honey and the pinch of black pepper.

• Ladle into two 16 oz. mugs and serve warm, topped with ground cinnamon if desired.
