Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
3-4 pounds boneless pork shoulder
1 tablespoon Diamond Crystal Kosher Salts per pound of pork
1 tablespoon sugar per pound of pork
Rub salt, sugar, and a bit of ground pepper onto the pork shoulder. Cover and refrigerate pork overnight.
IN THE SLOW COOKER
Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours.
IN THE OVEN
Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Place seasoned pork into a roasting pan. We use our trusty cast iron skillet. Toss it in the oven.
Roast for 6 hours.
Remove the pork and let it rest for a half hour or so. Then use forks to break apart the pork. Liquid reserved in the slow cooker or pan can be added to the pork to add flavour and moisture.
