Ingredients

• 2 TBSP chia seeds $0.33

• 1/2 cup of lactose free milk $0.42 (or virtually any liquid)

• 1 TBSP of pure maple syrup $0.25 or honey $0.40.

•• Optional: 1/2 cup steel cut or rolled oats $0.18 (and an additional 1/4 cup of milk $0.21)

• Optional: 1 TBSP Cacao powder $0.16

•• Optional: 1/4 cup Greek yogurt $0.27

• Optional: 1/4 TSP vanilla extract $0.23

•• Optional: 1 TBSP dark brown sugar $0.05, 2 TSP honey $0.27, 1/4 TSP cinnamon $0.03

•• Optional: 1/4 TSP cinnamon $0.03 and 1 oz box of raisins $0.43

• Optional: 1 TBSP instant coffee $0.13

Directions

• If you use honey, warm the milk and then stir in the honey.

• Pour ingredients, except the chia seeds, into a jar and mix well, then add the seeds and mix some more. Some of the seeds will try to stay floating, while others may sink to the bottom. Mix again periodically for the next 4-5 minutes or until the mixture stays well mixed.

• Cover the jar and store in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 hours. Overnight would be preferred if you added the optional oats.

Notes

• Mix and match the options pretty much however you like, into the basic recipe.

• Basic Chia pudding $0.90 ($1.15 when using honey). All the way, $2.55 (retail prices).

• Storage: Store the chia pudding in a mason jar or Tupperware for up to 1 week in the fridge.
