Ingredients

1 clove garlic, finely diced

2 shallots, finely diced

8 ounces brown mushrooms, small, whole

1 cup beer, preferably dark ale

1/2 cup beef stock, homemade (see recipe in book) or store bought

1 tablespoon steak sauce

1 dash Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Preparation:

In a sauté pan, heat the butter. Add the garlic and shallots and sauté until soft. Add the mushrooms and cook until they start to soften. (about 5 minutes).

Reduce the heat to medium, add the beer and beef stock and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half. Add the Worcestershire sauce and the steak sauce. Toss the mushrooms to coat evenly. Remove from the heat and serve.
