Spaghetti with Hidden Vegetable Pasta Sauce

1 small zucchini (1.5 cups)
2 carrots (1.5 cups)
1 yellow onion
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Freshly cracked black pepper
1 24oz. jar pasta sauce*
12 oz. spaghetti
Directions
1. Cut the zuccini and carrots into chunks and steam in the microwave (put in a bowl with lots of water, covered, and cook for about 7 minutes).
2. Dice the onion and mince the garlic
3. Add the olive oil and ground beef to a large, deep skillet. Cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is fully browned. set aside
4. In a seperate frying pan, on medium heat with some oil, fry the diced onion and garlic and continue to sauté a few minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent
5. Season the onions and garlic with oregano, salt, freshly cracked pepper. Continue to sauté 1 more minute.
6. put the carrots and zuccini in a high powered blender with the cooked onions and garlic and all the red pasta sauce. blend until smooth.
7. Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions, then drain in a colander. Return the drained spaghetti to the pot with the heat on low. Add the spaghetti sauce and cooked beef and stir until evenly heated then serve.
