Ingredients

700–750 ml water

150 g cornmeal

½-1 teaspoon salt

(Optional) 1 tablespoon butter or sour cream

Directions

Bring the water to a boil and add the salt.

Slowly sprinkle in the cornmeal while stirring constantly.

Lower the heat and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

If it gets too thick for your liking, add a splash of hot water.

Optional: stir in butter or sour cream at the end for extra creaminess.

Notes

700 ml → soft, holds shape

750 ml → softer and creamier
