1 pound lean ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 red onion, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 head of lettuce, finely shredded
6 ripe tomatoes, chopped
½ cup Italian dressing
2 cups ranch dressing
HOW TO MAKE DORITO TACO SALAD
Directions
Cook the Beef
In a skillet, crumble and brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain the excess fat once fully cooked.
Season the Meat
Add the taco seasoning, Italian dressing, and ranch dressing to the skillet. Stir well and simmer until the liquid is absorbed into the meat.
Prepare the Toppings
Shred the lettuce, chop the tomatoes, and dice the red onion. Place each in separate bowls. Add shredded cheese to another bowl.
Assemble the Salad
You can either let everyone build their own salad using the separate toppings — or mix everything together (including the crushed Doritos) into one large bowl with the warm beef for a bold, family-style version.
