Italian Bread Sticks*

Ingredientes

2/3 cup warm water

1 package dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

1/4 cup vegetable shortening

2 cups flour

Instruções

Dissolve yeast in water

Add salt, sugar, shortening and 1/2 flour

Beat until smooth

Mix in remaining flour

Knead unril smooth

Cover and let rise for 1 hour

Roll in pencil shapes

Place on greased sheet, 1" apart

Brush with beaten egg (egg + 1T water)

Sprinkle with sesame, celery, or poppy seeds

Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes
