Slow Cooker Apple Crisp
Apple Filling
3 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
Juice of 1 lemon
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Crisp Topping
½ cup flour
½ cup brown sugar
¾ cup old fashioned oats
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
Instruções
Place sliced apples in the bottom of a slow cooker. Add lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Toss until apples are evenly coated.
In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter using a fork or your hands until crumbly.
Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apples.
Lay a paper towel over the slow cooker and place the lid on. Cook on high for 1½ hours. The paper towel absorbs excess moisture and helps keep the topping crisp.
Remove the paper towel and continue cooking for 30 to 60 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden.
Serve warm topped with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
Notas
This slow cooker apple crisp is the definition of cozy. Tender cinnamon apples with a buttery oat topping, all made without turning on the oven. Perfect for busy days, chilly nights, or when you just need a warm dessert with a scoop of ice cream on top.
