Tamagoyaki Savory Japanese Egg Omel

Ingredienser

4 eggs

40 ml milk (or water or dashi stock)

1 ½ tbsp sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1 tsp Japanese soy sauce

Corn, green onion, ham [optional]

Fremgangsmåte

Whisk all ingredients in a bowl

Evenly coat the Tamagoyaki pan with oil

Pour a thin layer of egg mixture

When the egg is halfway cooked, start rolling it toward you. (Press down firmly with your spatula

Push the rolled omelet to the top apply oil and pour in more egg mixture

Lift the rolled section slightly and let the egg mixture flow beneath

Repeat steps 4 to 6 until you have a thick Tamagoyaki (about 3 times)

Optional: Transfer the Tamagoyaki to the bamboo mat for shaping and let it sit for 3 minutes

Slice the Tamagoyaki and serve with fried chicken over rice or make sushi if desired 😉
