Meatball Ingredients

1½ lbs ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 egg

½ small onion, finely diced

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Gravy Ingredients

3 tbsp butter

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups beef broth

½ cup milk or cream

1 tsp Worcestershire-style sauce substitute (soy sauce + pinch of brown sugar)

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

Salt & pepper to taste

Garnish

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.

Form into 10–12 meatballs and place them in a greased baking dish.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until lightly browned.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a pan and whisk in flour to form a smooth roux.

Slowly pour in beef broth and milk, whisking until the gravy thickens.

Add garlic powder, onion powder, soy sauce substitute, salt, and pepper.

Pour the gravy over the partially cooked meatballs.

Return to the oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes, until bubbling and golden.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
