Award-winning Texas Chili 🌶️⤵️
1-1/2lb beef chuck roast, cubed
1 tbsp steak seasoning
1 tbsp beef tallow (or oil)
1 white onion, diced
2 pounds 93/7 ground beef
1 tbsp tomato bouillon
4-5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cumin
3 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp tomato paste
2-3 chipotles in adobo, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 poblano pepper, diced
1 jalapeño, minced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
24oz beef broth
6oz (1/2 can) of beer
Arahan
Season your cubed chuck roast, then season it with the steak seasoning.
Add the beef tallow (or oil) to a pot over medium heat and add the chunks of beef to brown.
Once browned, set the beef to the side and add the chopped onion. Use a spoon to scrape the bottom of the pot as the onion cooks.
Once the onion is soft, add the ground beef & cook until browned.
Add the tomato bouillon, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Give it a good mix and cook for 3-4 minutes
Add the tomato paste & chipotles in adobo.
Add the browned chuck back to the pot, then stir well to combine.
Add the chopped poblano, jalapeño & red bell pepper and mix well.
Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the top, then add the beef broth & beer.
Stir to combine, then cover the pot and reduce the heat to low.
Let simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until thick.
Serve immediately & enjoy!
